Since we are a countertop company, it only makes sense that we start off with designers' predictions for 2022 countertop trends. Marble is a material that has been making a comeback the past couple of years, and while the classic white marble is still a predicted trend this year, there is a color that may be a surprise. Green marble, also known as verde marble, is suspected to be a bold new trend this year. Pairing a dark green marble with a light wood cabinet is said to be a hit. If green countertops aren't your thing, a light quartz is also said to be a hit this year - as it has been the past few years. Quartz is a favorite among families, as it holds up to real life messes. A white quartz or marble (even a look-alike stone) paired with a darker color cabinet may be more your style - and still be "in-style"!

No matter which material or color you choose for your countertops, using that same material as your backsplash will keep you "trendy" this year. Having a seamless transition from your countertop and continuing it up the wall - even all the way to the ceiling - will make a statement and give your kitchen a whole new high-end feel. Also known as a full height backsplash.
While this trend may not be for everyone - designers say that bold colors - especially for cabinetry - are making a comeback. Bold, painted cabinets are predicted to be popular - specifically greens and blues - to add personality, uniqueness, and character to their kitchen. However, if you don't want to be too adventurous just yet, Arianna Cesa, associate manager of color marketing and development with Benjamin Moore suggests easing into the trend with soft blues. “Calming, subtle, versatile, soft blues can even help to make spaces feel more open and airier," she says

This trend is a new one that you not have heard of before - a workstation sink. This type of sink is exactly as it's name implies, a sink for kitchen work such as washing and prepping your food. Workstation sinks will generally feature a built-in ledge for accessories like colanders, dish racks, and cutting boards; and for added productivity, can often be paired with multiple faucets.
You've probably heard it before, "we need more storage space, a bigger prepping area, and more space to entertain". The kitchen tends to be the room where friends and family gather the most, which is why many homeowners want their kitchens to feel welcoming and comfortable. Oftentimes, this socializing is done around the kitchen island, however, this leaves little space for food prep. This is why it is becoming increasingly popular to add a second island - one for food prep and the other for entertaining guests.
Designers are saying that old is new in 2022, so if you were thinking of throwing out grandma's old china cabinet or dining table - don't! Interior design clients are starting to move towards repurposing old furniture, giving their home an interesting story and a touch of personality.

In its 2021 "What Home Buyers Really Want" report, the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) found walk-in pantries tied with double-basin sinks as the most desirable feature homebuyers look for in a kitchen.
